Form: Tablet 0.45mg+20mg

Indication

Use to treat moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause, as well as to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Administration

Take this medication orally with or without food as advised by your doctor, generally once a day. To avoid stomach distress, you can take it with or after a meal. Swallow the tablets whole. Do not break or chew the tablets.

Adult Dose

Should be taken once a day.

Child Dose

Not recommended for use on children.

Renal Dose

It should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of it may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Contraindication

Women with undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding, known, suspected, or past history of breast cancer, known or suspected estrogen-dependent neoplasia, active deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or history of these conditions, active arterial thromboembolic disease, hypersensitivity (e.g., anaphylaxis, angioedema) to estrogens, bazedoxifene, or any ingredients, known hepatic impairment, or other known thrombophilic disorders are all contraindications.

Introduction

__NAME__ This medication is a combination product containing conjugated estrogens and bazedoxifene (an estrogen agonist/antagonist).__NAME__ is used by women with a uterus to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness) and to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis) after menopause. Conjugated estrogens are hormones which help to decrease menopausal symptoms caused by the body making less estrogen. Bazedoxifene is not a hormone, but works by acting like estrogen (as a selective estrogen receptor modulator or SERM) in some parts of the body. The bazedoxifene in this medication helps to preserve bone mass and reduces the risk of cancer of the uterus which can be caused by using estrogen.
